Extruded aluminum framing is aluminum alloy transformed into cross-sectional framing. It is commonly referred to as T slot profile. Inclined groove flanks make up the T-slot. Each profile line has flanks on at least one side. The groove extrusions enable modular design principles. Think of it as a building system that has infinite potential.
Ensure modular connections take advantage of the controlled elastic deformation. Doing so helps maximize the strength of each connection. All profiles come with an anodized or powder coat finish for ultimate protection levels.
There are many reasons to use T-slot aluminum framing, but these are the main reasons: strength, durability and versatility.
A common misconception is that aluminum will not meet structural strength standards. In fact, extruded aluminum possesses a superior strength-to-weight ratio than steel. It is strong enough to handle most structural design applications. Overall, the light-weight structure and structural strength offer to great benefits. It's a cost-effective and easy to use t-slotted framing option.
T Slot aluminum is tough enough for most structural framing applications. Unlike steel, aluminum is rust resistant. The anodized coating on extruded aluminum is a natural coating that prevents rust. Without the worry of rust, there is no need to prime or paint the framing.
Imagine there being infinite design potential. This is true when building with T Slot aluminum. The profiles use modular design principles. This means that they can be removed, adjusted or repositioned using component technology. T-nuts are the core of all components. Alternative connection components will handle most other forms of connections.
There are three profile weight classifications: Standard, Light and Economy. Each are used for their own specific applications. Well crafted designs combine the different weight types. Project cost are reduced by utilizing the different weight types. Structural integrity remains the same; high-levels of it.
MB Kit team members work with you to create the best possible parts list. Projects are designed with efficiency in mind. This is true in both cost and integrity.
Simply put, integrity and precision are the main design focal points. This will ensure satisfaction every time.
Standard profile is the strongest of the three profile weights. It is also the heaviest option. We recommend using it for linear motion applications.
Most costly profile option | Heaviest-duty option
Light Profile offers a perfect mix of strength, tolerance and low weight attributes. It is the most popular profile weight option.
Middle-range cost profile option | Heavier-duty option
Economy Profile is the ultimate lightweight profile. It's framing that offers high levels of durability and strength for its size. It's best used for light duty applications. Accent pieces, such as door handles, are ideal usages.
Lowest cost profile option | Heavy-duty option
MB Kit profiles are slow-extruded to withstand high straightness tolerance forces. This enables the most complex applications. Our profile selection includes a variety of 210+ T Slot profiles. They all fall into one of three profile lines: L5, L6 or L8. The ending number references the T slot groove dimension. The lines range from the light-duty L5 profiles up to the heaviest-duty profile, L8.
Extruded aluminum solutions designed and built specifically for you.
L8 is the base design for all T-slotted extruded aluminum designs. Being robust and strong, it is the most popular profile line. The high-volume of compatible components and accessories make it the ideal choice for most applications. Many of L8’s profile variations include the different profile weights. Satisfy virtually all of your construction needs using L8. Continue to enhance the profile by adding components into the 8 mm groove. For instance add poly carbonate panels or wire mesh.
All solutions can be built with L8 due to the wide-array of profile designs, components and structural strength.
Versatility, adaptability, strength, extensive profile & components line.
Mid-range sized line with high structural strength. Profile available in Standard and lightweight options. L6’s T-slotted groove is 6 mm. Included in design where specifications require a light, yet strong structure. It is a very functional line to use for the correct application.
For crowded and compact spaces. Lightweight guarding, small enclosures and structures are common uses for this line.
Lower cost, strong, complimentary profile with multiple options.
L5 is the smallest line option offered. It is best used for the smallest-sized framing applications. Despite L5 profile being considerably smaller than L8, it is substantially sound material. This line is used in situations where low weight loads are applicable. It is commonly used in conjunction with other profiles to save material cost. At the same time it meets specified project requirements. Available with open and closed grooves for a more attractive appearance.
Often used in conjunction with other profile lines. Small enclosures, low-load requirements, and support beams.
Lowest cost, small size, and complimentary profile option.
